Anna is a neutered , 18-year-old, male tabby who came to Laps and Naps in late November 2022 after his human mom died.
His "mom's" caretaker kept Anna until we were able to find a foster home and she aptly described Anna as a "grumpy old man". However, in the months he has been in his foster home, he has been found to be a loveable curmudgeon!
Anna communicates through hisses and demanding meows, but he is not violent and will play with toys when he thinks no one is watching. He LOVES to be brushed and will accept pets on his terms. He doesn't have many teeth and loves his wet food.
If you are interested in adopting Anna, please send an email to info@lapsandnaps.org or call 828-447-1230.
Autumn is a beautiful, sweet, 14-year-old calico whose past couple of years have not been easy. Her beloved person died and Autumn was surrendered to an animal shelter. Laps and Naps pulled Autumn from the shelter in January 2022, and Autumn went to a sanctuary home that we hoped would be her final home, but she is now looking for an adopter or another sanctuary home.
Autumn would do best as an only kitty in a quiet home with someone who doesn't travel much. She is very loving and entertaining and deserves a place where she can live out the rest of her life without being moved again. Autumn takes twice daily medication for her thyroid, but eats it right out of her food. Are you the person to bring peace and security to Autumn's golden years?
If you are interested in adopting or providing a sanctuary home for Autumn, please send an email to info@lapsandnaps.org or call 828-447-1230.
Britches' and Dotty's human mom went into a nursing home almost two years ago and has recently passed. The poor kitties had been living alone in the house since she left, with a family member coming in to feed them. Britches is thriving in his foster home and is waiting for his permanent home.
Britches is an extra-large boy, weighing in at just over 18 lbs. He is estimated to be 8-9-years-old. He was very bonded to his human mom and slept with her. He is shy with other people and timid with other cats, but he will blossom in a quiet household with the right person. At his foster home, he likes lying on the desk while his foster mom is working and spending time on the screened porch, watching wildlife. He is a very chatty guy and loves head scratches.
If you are interested in adopting Britches, please send an email to info@lapsandnaps.org or call 828-447-1230.
Charlie was a community cat, being fed by kind neighbors, until the neighbors notified volunteers doing TNR that Charlie was ill. He was taken to the vet and found to have a serious URI. One of the volunteers kept Charlie in her garage while he was being treated with antibiotics and reached out to Laps and Naps because she wanted to see him live out his final years in a retirement home, rather than being put back outside.
Charlie is estimated by the first vet he saw to be about 15-years-old, however, his newest vet doesn't feel he is that old. Charlie is the sweetest, most loving and playful kitty. He had a recent dental and nasal flush to try to get to the root of his congestion issues.
If you are interested in adopting Charlie, please send an email to info@lapsandnaps.org or call 828-447-1230.
Holly is a very sweet, 12-year-old girl who needed a new home when her family broke up and she didn't fit in with the current "life circumstances."
Holly enjoys playing with rubber bands, making kitty caves. under the covers, and is friendly with new people. She is also quite talkative! She has not lived with other cats, but has lived with a dog and is fine with children.
She had a senior exam, including bloodwork, before coming to Laps and Naps. She is healthy other than hyperthyroidism, which is controlled with medication.
If you are interested in adopting Holly, please send an email to info@lapsandnaps.org or call 828-447-1230.
Kevin is a very easy-going male, estimated to be 14-years-old, but could be younger. He showed up as a stray on a porch in Hendersonville and the Sheriff was called to "take him in". Laps and Naps pulled him from the Henderson County Shelter and he has been in a foster home since December.
Kevin had a benign tumor above his eye, which has been removed. He is finally healed up enough to go to his furever home!
Kevin is very friendly and gets along with the cat in his foster home. He was once loved by someone because he has had dental work and he prefers the indoor life. He loves flattening out under the covers on the bed!
If you are interested in adopting Kevin, please send an email to info@lapsandnaps.org or call 828-447-1230.
Maize was turned in to the Henderson County Animal Shelter as a stray, and after her "hold" ended, Laps and Naps pulled her and placed her in a foster home in Hickory, NC.
Maize is estimated to be about 15-years-old but she must have good genes because her bloodwork looks great for her age!
Maize was grumpy about being handled at first, but after she was treated for an ear infection and started receiving treatments for arthritis, she is very sweet and loving. She is responding well to monthly Solensia injections. Maize loves being brushed. She has a sweet little voice and loves to talk!
If you are interested in adopting Maize or providing a sanctuary home, please send an email to info@lapsandnaps.org or call 828-447-1230.
Oliver is a 10-year-old male who was pulled from the Henderson County shelter in mid-June where he had been taken in as a stray.
Oliver was adopted at the end of June, and must now be rehomed because of jealousy and dominance issues with the young male resident cat.
Oliver is a super sweet lap cat who loves to play. Things didn't work out for Oliver when he was placed with a younger cat, but he is currently sharing a room with two senior laid back cats and everyone is getting along fine!
If you are interested in adopting Oliver, please send an email to info@lapsandnaps.org or call 828-447-1230.
Phoebe is a funny, very friendly girl. She had a rough start in life being hit by a car as a kitten and breaking her pelvis and back legs, but she was surrendered to a vet clinic where she was fixed up and adopted out to a young couple. She was absolutely doted on for 12 years until recently, a baby and a dog joined the family and her food had to be moved to the counter and her litter box tucked away where she couldn't easily access it with her arthritis.
Phoebe is currently in a foster home in Asheville and is on medication for high blood pressure, but medicating her is not difficult. She is also receiving monthly Solensia injections for her arthritis.
If you are interested in adopting Phoebe, please send an email to info@lapsandnaps.org or call 828-447-1230.
Rocky is a 12-year-old, extra-large, polydactyl male in need of a new home because his human mom, who loved him very much, has transitioned out of this life, leaving a sad kitty behind.
Rocky is a super sweet lap cat who was no longer receiving the love and attention he desires and deserves. He is looking for a person to help fill the hole left in his heart when his mom died.
Rocky is in good health, other than needing to lose weight. He is currently in a foster home in Marshall, NC.
If you are interested in adopting Rocky, please send an email to info@lapsandnaps.org or call 828-447-1230.
Tamaki is a very sweet 14-year-old male who recently lost his human companion.
Tamaki had never been to a vet before coming to Laps and Naps but he is now up-to-date on all his vaccinations. His bloodwork looked great so he was neutered.
Despite his greying fur, Tamaki can get around pretty well and get up onto a couch for cuddles! While he’s not super playful, he loves lying on a blankie on laps or sitting next to you. He also gives sweet little kisses and love nibbles. And though you’d think he’d be retired, he works hard every day making the finest biscuits around. He also enjoys listening to and watching birds (both real and TV ones). Tamaki would love a human to lounge around with and love on all day.
If you would like to adopt Tamaki, please send an email to info@lapsandnaps.org or call 828-447-1230.
Waffles is in need of a new home because of a split in her family.
This gorgeous girl is 10-years-old, and is very friendly and outgoing. She will greet you at the door and welcome visitors to the house. She enjoys cuddling, especially at night.
Waffles has feline herpes, which makes her very sniffly. She is not on medication. Feline herpes is contagious to other cats, so she should be a one and only.
Waffles has a tendency to eat too fast, so her food needs to be divided into smaller meals to slow her down.
If you would like to foster or adopt Waffles, please send an email to info@lapsandnaps.org or call 828-447-1230.
Willow is a 9-year-old male who has been with Laps and Naps for over a year, and is now in his third foster home. He came to us after his person died and he had been alone in the apartment for three months, with a family member coming once a day to provide care.
Willow has chronic sniffiness, which doesn't affect his quality of life, but his furever person will have to be okay with sneeze debris.
Willow is initually shy, but very bossy once he feels comfortable. He doesn't like being picked up and held, but he is a lap cat who will sleep with you and on you.
If you would like to adopt Willow, please send an email to info@lapsandnaps.org or call 828-447-1230.

Molly and her littermate, Sam, are looking for a new lap to fill because their owner has Alzheimer's and can no longer care for them. Both kitties are 15-years-old and up-to-date on their vaccinations.
Molly is a sweet girl who loves to sit on a lap and snooze. She is shy with new people, but warms up after a bit. She is good with dogs, but hasn't been tested with children or cats other than Sam.
Both kitties would benefit from losing weight!
