Alice is a Siamese mix, estimated to be 9-11-years-old. She is declawed on all four paws.

We don't have Alice's history because she was abandoned in a mobile home when a tenant was evicted. She was rescued and adopted out, but the adopter rehomed her with Laps and Naps after eight months because Alice poops outside the box.

Alice was just diagnosed with hyperthyroidism and she will have a dental and a mass removed after her thyroid levels are under control.

Anna is a neutered, 21-year-old, male tabby who came to Laps and Naps in late November 2022 after his human mom died.

His "mom's" caretaker kept Anna until we were able to find a foster home and she described Anna as a "grumpy old man". However, in the time he has been in his foster home, he has been found to be a loveable curmudgeon!

Anna loves to snuggle and will play with toys when he thinks no one is watching. He LOVES to be brushed. He doesn't have many teeth and loves his wet food.

Bebe is a 12-year-old rotund female bobtail with beautiful green eyes.

She has lived in a single parent home with no other animals her entire life. Sadly, her person has been placed in a memory care facility and Bebe was living alone in the house with a family member going in to care for her. Bebe is now in a foster home in West Asheville.

Bebe is very shy and loves to look out the window at birds. She would do well in a home without other animals and with someone who is patient enough to allow Bebe to learn to trust.

Bella is a very sweet and shy 9-year-old female in need of a new home because her person died.

She and her two kitty housemates were alone in the house with a family member going in to care for them after their person died. The other two kitties were very social but Bella stayed hidden. A family friend took the other two cats and Bella stayed in the bedroom of a family member until a foster home was found.

Bella will stay hidden until she knows she is safe, but she is very sweet and loving with people she trusts. She would love a quiet home with a patient person who will allow her to come out in her own time.

Boots is an extra-large boy, estimated to be 10-11-years-old. He is FIV positive.

He showed up as a stray and a kind woman cared for him as he continued to live outside. She had him for about two years and would take him to the vet when he had injuries.

When he became ill, he was taken to the vet and found to be FIV positive. The vet recommended he be kept indoors and the woman reached out to us for rehoming. Boots is currently in a foster home in Flat Rock.

Boots is initially shy but is a super lovebug once he warms up and learns to trust his new people and environment.

Ms. Charlie was once part of a family but after she scratched one of the children, she was put outside and then left behind when the people moved. A kind neighbor was feeding Ms. Charlie and was concerned because she had a tumor on her ear and had lost a lot of weight. After she came to Laps and Naps, the tumor was removed and she is on medication for hyperthyroidism. She is easy to medicate as she eats the pill crushed in her food. 

Ms. Charlie is estimated to be 10-years-old. She is friendly and loving, but needs a person who respects her boundaries. She doesn't like having her feet touched, or her back stroked, but loves head rubs and scratches!

Choji is a sweet cat who was formerly outdoors until he was rescued and taken to a vet because of multiple injuries. He is estimated to be 11-years-old.

Choji is FIV+ and lame in his left front leg. Radiographs didn't show signs of a fracture, but the lameness could be due to a previous injury. He also has some broken teeth, but none seem to be bothering him at this time.

At the time he was taken to the vet, he had a puncture wound and abcess, along with fleas and ear mites. All have been treated and Choji has been neutered. Choji is looking for a nice indoor retirement home where he doesn't have to worry about daily survival!

Domino is a very sweet senior, estimated to be about 10-years-old. Domino's person died and he watched as his beloved cat family were all surrendered back to the shelters and rescues from whence they were initially adopted. No paperwork could be found for Domino's adoption, so Laps and Naps took him in. He is currently in a foster home in Fletcher, NC.

Domino is initially shy but very friendly once he gets to know you. He loves giving head butts and receiving head scratches and rubs.

Domino has lived with other cats and dogs. He is not tested around children, but has an easy going nature.

Ganymede is a sweet female, estimated to be 10-years-old.

She is sad because she is living alone in the mother-in-law house because her people are allergic to her. They visit her during the day, but she would rather be in a home where she can share lliving quarters with her human family.

Ganymede had a kitty companion who recently died and she misses him! Can you give Ganymede the companionship she so desires?

Miss Johnny is a shy but friendly and loving female, estimated to be 12-15-years old.

Miss Johnny, Martha, and another senior female had been living in crates for most of their lives. Their elderly caretakers were not willing to surrender the cats until they were moved by DSS into care facilities.

One of the senior cats was in poor health and was humanely euthanized. Miss Johnny had emergency surgery to remove huge ovarian cysts. After she heals and has her dental, she will be ready to go to her furever home.

Miss Johnny is currently in a foster home in Candler, NC.

Kai is a very sweet 10-year-old seal point Siamese who has an issue with urinary incontinence. His foster family is working with the vet in trying different treatments to help him regain control.

Kai does best in a calm, low stress household,. He needs to stay on a wet food diet to ensure he gets plenty of fluids.

Kai is sweet, funny, and intelligent and would make a very good companion!

Maize was turned in to the Henderson County Animal Shelter as a stray, and after her "hold" ended, Laps and Naps pulled her and placed her in a foster home in Hickory, NC.

Maize is estimated to be about 15-years-old but she must have good genes because her bloodwork looks great for her age!

Maize was grumpy about being handled at first, but after she was treated for an ear infection and started receiving treatments for arthritis, she is very sweet and loving. She is responding well to monthly Solensia injections. Maize loves being brushed. She has a sweet little voice and loves to talk!

Martha is a shy but friendly female, estimated to be 12-15-years old.

Matt and Miss Kitty (anybody remember Gunsmoke?) were a bonded pair of 14-year-old siblings whose human died suddenly in July. They were alone in the house for over four months with a family member going in to care for them.

Sadly, Miss Kitty recently died and Matt is suddenly looking for a home of his own, without Miss Kitty.

Matt is outgoing, friendly and loving.. He is in a  foster home in Asheville NC. Although he loved Miss Kitty, Matt sometimes bullies more timid cats so he is looking for a home where he can be the only kitty.

Max and Tilly are 14-year-old siblings, currently living in Swannanoa, NC.

They had lived in the same home all their lives, but after their person died, a family member took them in but cannot keep them because he is maxed out on the number of cats he can care for in his apartment.

Max is described as "the sweetest, dumbest boy who only wants love and maybe wet food." Max has untreated asthma and will have an asthma attack if he pushes himself too hard. He would probably respond well to a daily inhaler.

Laps and Naps will pay medical expenses for foster cats.

Meow is a sweet 17-year-old female in need of a retirement home because her people have died.

She had been living alone in the house with a neighbor and famiy members going in to care for her. She is currently in a foster home in West Asheville and loves cuddling up to her foster mom, purring her to sleep every night!.

Meow's life started as a tiny kitten under a shed. The kind woman who later became her "mom" worked hard to earn her trust, and after a long period of time, Meow became her loving house kitty.

Meow has long fur and is regularly groomed. She is UTD on her shots and just needs a loving home where she can spend the rest of her days!

Mountain Girl was an inside/outside kitty who was left behind by her people when they moved. Renters cared for her, but did not want to abandon her once again when they left, yet they could not take her with them.

Mountain Girl is in a foster home in Hendersonville, NC awaiting her furever home. She is now indoor-only and is very sweet and loving.

MG is estimated by the vet to be around 12-years-old. She had a dental and all but two teeth were removed so she is feeling much better! She has arthritis and benefits from monthly Solensia shots and she has been diagnosed with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy and is taking clopidogrel.

Murphy is in need of a new home because his person was moved into assisted living and he could not go with her.

Murphy was adopted from a shelter three years ago the day before he was scheduled to be euthanized. He is a very people-oriented cat and loves to have a lot of attention from his person. 

Murphy does not like dogs or other cats and his ideal home would be with a person who is home a good bit of the time and with no other animals. He is an extra-large boy and benefits from exercise and portion control.

Pretty Boy is a 9-year-old male who was adopted from a shelter when he was on the euthanasia list.

Now, his owner is no longer able to physically care for him and is reluctantly surrendering him.

Pretty boy is a very sweet, laid-back, social cat. He has diabetes that is currently not being treated due to his owner's limitations. He would benefit from being switched to an exclusively wet food diet and may need insulin as well.

Laps and Naps will pay for Pretty Boy's medical expenses as long as he is being fostered.

Sheik is a sweet 14-year-old female who needs to find a new home through no fault of her own. 

She was found on the side of a road when she was a tiny kitten and has been living with the same person all her life. She has lived with other cats, rabbits, and guinea pigs but is untested around dogs.

Sheik is still lively and playful, but mostly enjoys cuddling. She is up-to-date on vaccinations and had a recent dental.

Sir Mater was saved from death on his "final" day in a shelter. We just couldn't let this handsome 9-year-old boy have his life cut short so a group of people, "Team Mater", worked together to pull him from the shelter and transport him to his foster home in Candler, NC.

Sir was surrendered to the shelter when his elderly person no longer had the capacity to care for him. His glucose level tested high at the shelter and it was suspected that he has diabetes. He isn't showing classic symptoms and he is on a two week trial of a wet food diet before being retested.

Sweet Bonnie, age 10, is looking for an adopter without other animals and with someone who is willing to follow the protocol set up by her allergy doctor, which includes injections and follow-up visits to the allergy clinic.  

With humans, she is an extremely sweet and affectionate lap cat, but she is sometimes aggressive to both the foster cat and dog.

Tilly and Max are 14-year-old siblings, currently living in Swannanoa, NC.

Tinks is a sweet 15-year-old male in need of a new home because there isn't enough room for him in a small residence with a special needs child.

Tinks was one of four kittens born in 2008 to a mama cat who didn't know how to take care of her kittens. His three siblings died but Tinks was rescued by a kind human who bottle fed him and he miracously survived.

He was recently taken in by another family but did not get along with one of the resident cats so he was returned. Tinks is hoping for a kind person to give him a quiet retirement home with no other cats.
