Our “Dapper Gentleman” is at Peace

Our “Dapper Gentleman” is at Peace

Today we said goodbye to our dear, sweet Buddy. A most noble, gentle-cat, Buddy deeply touched the lives of those of us privileged to spend time with him in the ten weeks he was under our guardianship.

Buddy was one of three senior cats who were surrendered to Laps and Naps when their beloved human died. Buddy, at 14-years-old, was the youngest of the three. Not long after he came under our care, he was diagnosed with a cancerous abdominal mass and it was determined that he was not a good candidate for surgery. His dedicated foster mom, Samantha, was determined to provide him with love and care for the remainder of his time with us and she did just that, even leaving her own cats to sleep in the foster room with Buddy in his final days. Dr. Laurin provided pain management and supportive homeopathic therapies to keep Buddy comfortable and he passed peacefully, knowing that he was valued and loved.

Buddy, we will miss your loud purrs that filled the room, and your soft mews as you looked deeply into our eyes. Enjoy your reunion with your sweet mama, dear boy.
