Our Mission and Vision

LNHSC is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) volunteer-based animal welfare organization dedicated to providing a loving, cage-free home environment to senior cats, ages 9 years or older.

In addition to accepting cats from owners who can no longer care for them, LNHSC transfers in senior cats from animal shelters to provide them with care meeting their emotional and physical needs.

Our aim to be a model for the humane care of cats in their later years, and to build a cat-focused sanctuary facility with the feel of a retirement home for short- and long-term care.

Joining Forces For The Most Vulnerable

In 2019, a few like-minded souls came together to create Laps and Naps Home for Senior Cats, with a shared vision of giving older cats a second chance.

What started with a handful of foster caretakers and word-of-mouth engagement has blossomed into a lifeline for over 350 senior cats in 2025.

Now we’re launching our next phase – creating a peaceful, cagefree retirement home for treatment, adoptions, and short- and long-term housing.
