A Day in the Life of a Senior Cat Rescuer

It’s getting harder to find homes for the seniors who need us now more than ever.

Each day starts the same: checking emails and voicemails from people desperately trying to rehome senior cats. Some are their own, some belong to aging relatives, and others are abandoned or left behind when an owner enters a nursing home.

Sometimes, the owner simply forgets to feed them.

The phone rings all day. We are a very small rescue — no sanctuary, no facility — just a network of compassionate foster homes, doing everything we can.

To our fosters: we are so grateful for you. You are the lifeline for these forgotten souls.

But here’s the hard truth: many don’t make it to us. They end up in shelters, or worse… they pass away, waiting for help that never came.

Still, we will never give up. Ever.

If you’ve donated food, litter, or money — THANK YOU.
If you’ve shared a post or told a friend about a cat in need — THANK YOU.
If you’ve opened your home as a foster — YOU are the reason they have a second chance.

Your support is vital to keeping us going — and keeping senior cats safe — in WNC.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you.
