As part of the board, the treasurer will support the work of Laps and Naps and oversee the organization’s financial management and fiscal health. This position requires commitment to the organization’s mission and active participation in board meetings.

Organizational Overview:
We’re currently in the process of raising funds to create a cage-free cat sanctuary for short- and long-term care, while rescuing and rehoming stray and homeless seniors.
Key Responsibilities:• Assist in the preparation of the annual budget and present it to the other board members for review.
• Prepare and ensure that the monthly and quarterly organization’s financial statements are reviewed by the board.
• Oversee the filing of tax returns to ensure compliance with all regulatory
requirements.
• Develop and put in place the nonprofit’s financial policies and investment strategies to maintain cash reserves.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration; or extensive knowledge in the accounting field.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Skill in accounting software (currently using QuickBooks Online), fundraising, and financial management systems.
